When I heard about a nine year old girl named Haley being diagnosed with cancer I knew I wanted to do something. I wanted to give her support and encouragement and I thought maybe having a race car on the track would give her something to smile about. That was the beginning of Team Haleybug. Since that very humble beginning, the support and participation from other racers, fans, and everyone has been incredible. Haleybug and her family instantly became part of my family and we are so thankful.

I was looking for a race team to be part of. I found out about Team Haleybug through Cole Suttles. It was a blessing to land at such a fabulous race team with a mission. So, bottom line is, I believe God’s will is why I’m part of Team Haleybug Racing.

I got to be a part of Team Haleybug Racing for two simple reasons. I felt that if my car excited a child that was really down on their luck that maybe, just maybe, it would give them a reason to smile and fight a little harder. When Tony and I started talking about the Haleybug Race at K.M.S. Speedway, we didn’t know how the turnout would be. When we started the driver’s meeting, everyone knew why they were there. Miss Haley was all smiles, almost as if she couldn’t believe everyone had come together specifically just for her day. That’s when I realized Team Haleybug Racing was something I was proud to run on my car.

I wanted to help kids that are battling something that most people aren’t, and support them and be someone they can look up to and watch on the track. I’m twenty one years old, been racing for four years, and got to be a part of Team Haleybug my second year. I couldn’t have been more thankful to be a part of it.

It was my first year racing, only been in the car a few times when I was told about the race at K.M.S for Haleybug. I wanted to go and support her and her family and the situation they were in. What went on that night was much more than racing. Everyone came together and fellowshiped for her and her family. I wanted to be a part of that from here on and support the kids and have something for them to be a part of on the track.

Stetson Bryant Racing Team is all about giving back when they can. Stetson met Team Haleybug at the start of his competitive kart racing career. Ever since then they’ve stayed friends. Team Haleybug invited Stetson to drive and show off his kart in the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Race Car Parade. Stetson and his crew loved seeing all the smiles on the kid’s faces.

A page on Facebook kept popping up and I clicked on it. I read about Haleybug and the Doors For Dreams campaign. I couldn’t help but contact Tony Suttles and put one of Junior’s door panels in the auction to help out. I am so thankful for the opportunity to help out any way possible, and what better way than with race cars!
